The Brief
The homeowners of this stunning Victorian property in Maidenhead approached Fresh Approach Design & Build with a unique challenge. They desired a full house refurbishment that would modernise the space for their growing family while maintaining the property's original period charm and architectural details.
The project faced a tight timeline due to an upcoming house sale and the need to minimise disruptions caused by a new baby on the way and their existing child changing nurseries. The homeowners were also keen to avoid extended stays in rented accommodation during the refurbishment.
The Solution
Understanding the importance of preserving the home's character, Fresh Approach opted for a meticulous "back-to-brick" renovation. This involved stripping the property back to its core elements, allowing for a complete rebuild that honoured the original design cues. Traditional plaster coving, ceiling mouldings, timber panelling, and dado rails were meticulously incorporated, creating a sense of timeless elegance.
New timber casement windows were installed, adhering to strict conservation area guidelines, and ensuring a seamless aesthetic integration with the existing architecture. To achieve a subtle blend of modern comfort and traditional style, the team thoughtfully selected contemporary tiling and room accessories. Every detail was carefully considered to ensure a clean and lasting execution, guaranteeing the home's beauty for generations to come.
